Camera being viewed notifications

Hi everyone

posted previously regarding my issue but lost the thread.

has anyone experienced nest cam being viewed notifications when you know full well that no one , that you know, is viewing the stream.
I am referring to my nest hubs, I have two that show the notification. Also I am unsure if the same is happening with my nest cam IQ. Can anyone please explain how I can check if there is someone logging in on my stream?
I would love any feedback, especially from any techs/mods.

thank you

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this, as I can imagine it has been an inconvenience. I would love to look into this further for you. Do you share access to this feed with anyone else in your household? Also, do you know if your internet connection is shared with anyone else? If you have an active Nest Aware subscription, you can view your history to see if someone is trying to access your camera. Your camera's video history on a computer will include a timeline at the bottom of the screen that helps you scan your recorded video to find important events.

Best regards,
Brad

I do not share the feed nor do I believe others have access unless they have gained it without my knowledge? How do I view my history to check other users logging in.?

@dorianne

If you do not share access with anyone, then you shouldn't be worried about others watching your stream. If you have the camera streaming on a smart display, then you may be getting the alert from that. Are you still seeing this concern currently? Please let me know.

Best regards,

Brad

I have already stated that I have checked through all the items listed. I am looking for assistance to confirm the security of my cameras. Yes, I have changed my password, several times, but the notification continues to pop up (at intermittent times). Is there a way for me as a user to check the activity/log ins online?

I am referring specifically to your comment above " If you have an active Nest Aware subscription, you can view your history to see if someone is trying to access your camera"

If you have gone through your history and do not see that someone is accessing your camera, then you do not have anyone accessing your camera. Only those with access to your account will be able to view the cameras unless you have parental controls set up which only the owner of the account has access to add.

To answer your question, there's no way others can see those settings unless they are linked to the account. As you stated, there was no one else who shares your access. There's no way to know who's viewing the camera. Please check out how many accounts are linked on the Google Home app by following the steps below to know-how:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Tap "Settings" then "Household.

Please let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Brad
