Cameras won't play back video events, just shows "buffering" circle

I have 5 different Nest Cams (indoor, indoor IQ, outdoor floodlight).  On old Nest app I could play back and event video.  When I switched to Google Home app, about half the time playback would clock and I would have to download save event to watch.  On all cameras, they all work or none work.  Starting in June, 99% of the time playback clocks, and I must download to watch.  I have good download internet speed around 100 Mbps and upload 40 Mbps.

Why does playback of events not work anymore and just clocks?

Hi jdolan01,

Thanks for posting in the community!

I'm so sorry to hear that all the event history is not playing on the Google Home app, and it is just showing the "loading circle." No worries; I'm here to help! Just to get started, I have a couple of questions that will help me provide you with the best troubleshooting steps. Can you please help me answer them?

  • What are your upload and download speeds at the camera's location?
  • Are you able to view event history on other devices, such as a laptop, tablet, or phone?
  • Is the Wi-Fi router or access point within a reasonable range (1 to 15 meters) of between three to fifty feet from the Nest devices?

If you have more questions for me, feel free to reply to this post. I'll be happy to assist further!

Best regards,

Nery.
