Doesn't override dnd

No matter how many times I set the whole Nest doorbell app to override Do Not Disturb it doesn't work. Anybody could come up to that door during the night and I wouldn't know. Any suggestions please?

@Em-El

Is there a way for the 2nd gen Google Nest Doorbell to override "Do not disturb" on a Nest Hub? There certainly is NOT for the Google Nest Hello Doorbell.

Are you telling me that during the night anybody could come to my front door without Nest warning me? What was Google thinking?

@Em-El

Only if you turn on "Do not disturb" on your Nest Hubs/Nest Minis, and on your phone. I don't know how the Android phone works, but on the iPhone you can allow anyone on your "Favorites" list to call or text you, but there's no way for Google Nest doorbells to override "Do not disturb".

If you have an indoor doorbell chime, that will ring because it's independent of "Do not disturb" on your phone and Nest Hubs, unless you turn on "Quiet Time" for the doorbell (in the Google Nest app, on older doorbells only).

Thanks but I have an Android phone and I set all functions of Nest to override DND. It didn't  work or I would not have asked for help.And I have an indoor chime and it only sounds if somebody rings the bell. Do you expect the burglar to do that?

@Em-El

Maybe someone with an Android phone will respond here.

We have iPhones and do not have ANY options in the Google Nest app for our Nest Hello Doorbells or our 1st gen cameras to override "Do not disturb", and we do not have ANY options in the Google Home app for our two 2nd gen cameras to override "Do not disturb".

Do far nobody has come up with a solution. Renders Nest doorbell pretty useless during the night.

Hello everyone,

@Em-El, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. We appreciate your interest however, we don't have any news to share about applying this feature to the Nest app or Google Home app. We're always looking for ways to improve and we'll take it as feedback. I'd suggest you send feedback to let the Google Engineering team know about your concern. While they won't respond directly back to you, this is the best way to let them know about this.

I appreciate the response, MplsCustomer.

Regards,

Emerson

Hi Em-El,

Thanks for getting back to us. By sending your feedback, the Engineers would review it and take it into consideration and apply it through updates. For adding features, they are the only ones when will this be available. As of the moment we don't have any updates to share with you.

Best,

Emerson
