Error code NC008

Hi. I purchased a Hello wired doorbell. We have tried to connect multiple times. When in final stages, error code NC008 pops up. The voltage is 16v ac at doorbell. We have tried moving to the hub, tried with firewall off. The bell is showing blue. The only thing is I cannot see a status light at camera which I think should be there. We have tried all troubleshooting so have no idea what to do. It works ok as a doorbell but not its intended use. Any help appreciated. I will add we borrowed a ring doorbell and had it set up in 10 minutes. Thank you.

Since Google Nest assigns 8 different codes (C209 ∙ C229 ∙ C230 ∙ C231 ∙ C232 ∙ C233 ∙ NC008 ∙ NC009) for when your internet firewall may be preventing access for your doorbell, maybe you could try contacting Google Nest Support to ask if they can tell you specifically what NC008 means, so you know what to look for on your end. Maybe you'll be lucky enough to get a technician who can tell you exactly what NC008 means:

Thank you.  I can set up an other doorbell fine. I think  the google one is faulty but typically have no receipt of purchase. The code mentions firewall or  other connection  issues but there is nothing wrong there.  When powered up should the camera status light come on immediately or only after set up? As said, I am unable to complete set up although bell is working ok as ring only. Thank you.

Or it could be some technical nuance in your home Wi-Fi setup that trips up a Nest Hello but not a Ring doorbell. If Google Nest has 8 different code for internet firewall issues (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9240048?hl=en#internet_security_settings&zippy=%2Cnc-er...), presumably the NC008 code has a specific meaning--else why have 8 codes? I just don't know whether Support could tell you the meaning.

I contacted Google support. They were very friendly and tried to help, but unfortunately it was no good. After a week of trying, I had to buy a ring doorbell and was set up in about 20 minutes. Thank you.

It's too bad Google Nest Support didn't offer to replace the doorbell when they too couldn't get it to work.

They did offer a replacement but although never used the receipt is missing. I basically bought on trust from someone. The bell was new but  I cannot give proof of purchase. That said, the ring doorbell is so good and very user friendly. A steep learning curve. Thank you for your help.

Hey Danny1974,

I'm dropping by to ensure that everything is covered here. I hope that sheds some light on the issue.

I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

Thanks,

Archie

Hi Archie. Initially I needed advice as it would only work as a doorbell. The camera will not connect at all Tried everything on all different forums. No luck in getting a solution. Spoke to support who were helpful but could not fix the issue. Without a receipt though there is not much that can be done. Thank you.

Thanks,

Hi. Form filled out. I've already tried support though. I think my only option is to try and find somebody who repairs them or updates software etc. Ive removed it for now. Thank you.
