I just had this new version of the doorbell installed and since it was installed it keeps telling me someone is at the door but it is misidentifying the person at the door. When I go into the familiar faces section of the Google home app, that face isn’t there. Why does it keep telling me it’s one person at the door when it’s someone totally different.

Go to Familiar Face then tap "manage". You can then name the faces that the camera has captured. This will help stop the misidentifications.

I’ve done that already. For example, my doorbell was just rung and it though it was by brother in law. It’s not. I go to familiar faces to see if that person in that section and they are not

So the doorbell is not capturing any pictures of faces for you?

It is capturing faces but they are incorrect. For example, I had a contractor in my home earlier today and it said it was my brother in law which was incorrect. I went to the familiar faces to look for my brother in laws photos and my contractors photos weren’t there
