I recently purchased a Google Nest outdoor camera. To set it up I was forced to download the Google Home app as it would not work with my existing Nest app. In the Nest app I can see my thermostat, Nest Protect devices and the camera from my door bell. In the Google Home app I see the thermostat (although it shows me the current inside temperature, I can't control it as I can using the Nest App). I do not even see my smoke/CO detectors and BOTH cameras. My Nest doorbell AND my new Google Nest outdoor cam.
When someone walks by I get a notification on my iPhone 13 Pro iOS 15.2 as well as my Apple Watch. The issue is on the watch the notices coming from the Nest doorbell (Nest App) have a picture of the person or object causing the alert. I receive an alert from the Google Nest outdoor cam but it's BLANK (no picture or video). Is this a glitch or something that doesn't work in the Google Home app. (The Google Home app is far inferior to the older Nest app, should have used that as a starting point rather than starting over)

This issue is being report by many Apple Watch users. There are numerous threads regarding the topic. There's very little official information addressing the issue. Most threads follow this pattern. 1) User report, 2) a few people say me too, 3) moderator says Is this still an issue, we want to make sure this gets resolved and thank you for your patience, 4) a few people say What's the status, 5) the thread gets locked with no resolution.
It's a very odd issue because, as many have stated, the Nest app notified just fine. Also, other Google apps such as Google Photos send notifications to the Apple Watch successfully using what looks like an identical format so it seems like Google should have the knowledge to address the issue, yet here we are with a big blank rectangle in the middle of the notification. That's all I've got for you. I'm in the same boat too. Sorry.

Issue has not been address. So far Nest system to google home has been a downgrade. Google team could solve this in a few hours of attention and programming I’m sure.

It’s still not working.

Just a thought, go back to the far superior, sleeker, easier to use, well designed Nest app and make some tweaks (if you must)

Unfortunately, the Nest app doesn't support newer Google Nest products. I invested in migrating to the new system but came to a halt due to this issue so stuck with a mixed dual app system. Google Home is lacking a lot of features and ease. Still on the fence to cut my losses, sell the entire nest/google system and start from scratch with a more mac and user supported system. I don't know.

Hey folks.
This is a known bug but I am afraid I do not have any ETA on a fix or if there is one yet. Please try to restart your devices, make sure they are all updated to their latest firmware, etc.
Best regards,
Brad.

I’ve given up. Combination of this along with sub-par experience in the Home app compared to the Nest app, having to migrate off legacy Nest Aware plan, and poor battery performance in cold weather made me return these cameras. Additionally, will be looking to sell my Nest Secure system for a proper home security system with better camera performance and user experience.
