Google NestCam Streaming

I have 10 streaming cameras set up in my business.  I purchased Samsung tablets so that our employees could view the streaming footage of other areas (e.g. our lobby) when new customers arrive.  However, the streaming footage through the Home App seems to timeout every 5 minutes or so.  It requires refreshing to get the image back - and often at this point will just stall out and need the entire device to reboot.  It is the same issue for virtually every camera.

How do I get my nestcams to stream reliably without having to refresh / reboot every 5 minutes?

Hello jasonjen34

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To save power, the live video stream will stop automatically:

  • Live video from battery-powered Nest cameras and doorbells stops after 5 minutes.
  • Live video from wired Nest cameras and doorbells stops after 12 hours.

To start the live stream again, repeat your voice command.

To learn more, you may visit our public article about "Stream your security camera using your Google Nest display".

Regards,

Emerson
