Google Saying Out of Warranty

My 2.5 year old doorbell started peeling and after some research this appears to be a pretty common thing...  It has been mounted outside, under a porch, facing North even.... I contacted Google and their response of "it's out of warranty" seems pretty ridiculous... There is no way an IPX4 certified device should start to fail from being outdoors after 2.5 years...

There are MANY posts in this forum about peeling doorbells. Two of our three 1st gen Google Nest Hello Doorbells have been peeling for quite some time. Since they're beyond the 1-year warranty, we bought silicone "skins" on Amazon to cover the peeling shards.

Welcome to the group of 1000's of customers with the same problem (including me).  Google has really let down the customer base on this one.  I switched to the new Gen 2 doorbell but didn't like it.  So I returned it and now I just live with the ugly peeling camera because everything else about it works great for me.   I wish GOOGLE had never bought NEST.  They are destroying an otherwise great product line with many years of bad decisions that are not in the best interest of the customer base (in my opinion).  Sorry Google but you blew it on this product.
