Help please! I have installed our doorbell and replaced the transformer because our first one didn't have high enough voltage and was starting to burn. Now, with the correct transformer it is starting to smell like the first one began to. Please help!

I had similar problem and my replacement transformer failed and needed replaced.  I took apart the doorbell and, although installed by a "NEST installation pro", I found the tech left two bare wires to the doorbell that touched, a direct short.  It is possible you have a short condition.

Thanks so much for the reply! I will recheck what I've done 🙂. It shouldn't be this hard right? Ha
