Google nest hello peeling door bell

Hi, I purchased my door bell in dec 19 but fitted in June 20. It’s been installed for a 18 months now and it’s been peeling for a while and now it looks so bad that I’ve had to research and noticed it’s a common issue. This must be a manufacturing defect as there are so many people with the same issue. Google have you overcome this defect yet? Is this defect covered under warranty? Is there a recall?
