WHY can't I access the history of cameras through my Home app (android) when the cameras are offline? Whenever a camera goes offline, the history is unavailable.
This is stupid: all a criminal needs to do is take your cameras offline, & you won't be able to see the footage leading up to that incident! There's no way to tell if your cams went down overnight because of an intruder.
Is there a hidden setting (one that should be automatically on in any decent system, such as the old Nest app)?

Hi Axel. Thanks for the reply. However, the problem isn't that it won't record when offline (which makes sense), it is that any footage recorded before it goes offline is ALSO not available when it gies offline.
Not only is that assinine, it is unnecessary: the old Nest app could view previously recorded footage while the camera is offline. So this is a feature that Google actually REMOVED from access!
It is an important feature; before, if an intruder damages a camera, you still can see the coming up to the camera. Now, all a burglar has to do to wipe out evidence is pull the camera offline or destroy it! Really stupid, Google.

Hi joelrutledge1,
Thanks for posting in the Community! I'm sorry to hear that it's frustrating for you not to have access to the video history when your cameras go offline. Unfortunately, the cameras can only record and save all that footage when it's online. Here you have this article related to Video history in the Nest app.
Regards,
Axel.
