How do I stop my wired nest doorbell from notifying me when a familiar faces detected.

I don't need to know when my wife is stepping outside to get the mail, I only want to be notified when an unfamiliar face is at my door.  How do I change the settings to not notify me when a familiar face is detected?

Can this be done?

Thank you.

Open the Nest app. Tap settings. Select "Familiar Faces". Turn face section on or off.

Thats.....not going to work.  That will just change the notifications from 'Wife is at the door' to 'someone is at the door'.  I want it to not notify me if  a recognized face is at the door.

The lack of this notification settings makes the Familiar Faces feature more of an annoyance than a convenience. My camera sees me 90% of the time. I don't need notifications that I'm on my own porch. It makes it hard to even see the real notifications since I'm getting so used to ignoring all the useless ones.

Yeahhhhhh, I'm kind of coming to that realization too, so many false positives.  Like doorbell, please don't notify me, I know I'm at my own door.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this, as I can imagine it has been an inconvenience. I would love to look into this further for you. I am afraid that as long as Familiar Faces is enabled, you will continue to get notifications. As this is a learning system, I would suggest editing your faces and names, so they are announced correctly. Please feel free to provide your feedback in the app if you wish, it is always welcomed.

Best regards,
Brad

My subscription has lapsed and will not be renewed until you add this essential feature. If I'm going to be notified of every face then there's no benefit to having a name attached. I should just return the camera.

Unfortunately, it looks like you cannot show notifications for only unfamiliar faces.
