In ADT+, add Google Nest devices doesn't show Nest doorbell wired gen 2 and Nest Hub Max

I installed a Nest doorbell wired gen 2 in August. It works well in Google Home.

I just installed an ADT+ self-install system. In ADT+ app -> Devices -> + -> Google Nest Device -> Connect existing devices > ADT > "ADT's access to your Google Nest devices" page, the doorbell is not shown in the list of cameras.

Same for the Nest Hub Max camera (same problem as https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Speakers-and-Displays/Nest-Hub-Max-camera-not-available-on-AD...).

It shows other cameras (Nest Cam battery).

What should I do to connect the doorbell camera with ADT+?

Hello phnix,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. I'm glad to know that it's working fine with your Google Home app. To know more about this issue, I’d like to confirm, have you tried reaching out with ADT support and ask them for assistance about your issue? As much as we wanted to help you, we're not trained to troubleshoot ADT related issues. In case you reach out with them and you have an update, you know where to find us.

Best,

Emerson

Thanks for the reply. I haven't contacted ADT because I believe this is not an ADT issue. First, based on  https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Speakers-and-Displays/Nest-Hub-Max-camera-not-available-on-AD..., ADT didn't think it's a problem that they can resolve. Second, the page is privided by Google (instead of ADT) to authorize access of nest cameras to ADT+. The page seems in a gap  of nest camera support. I would expect the problem to be routed to the dev team of that authorization page, and I will be glad to help debug the issue.

Hi phnix,

Thanks for getting back to us. We hear you and we wanted to do our best here to help you.

Give these steps a try:

  1. Once you installed the ADT Smart Home Hub you may start adding devices and select the Google Nest device.
  2. You'll be asked to create a new home or select the existing home in your Google Home app.
  3. During setup, you'll be asked to give ADT access to view information of your home to provide customer support for your Google Nest devices, manage Google Nest services (Nest Aware), control Nest devices, and allow devices to participate in video monitoring.
  4. You may continue and setup your Nest device.
  5. Follow the prompts to finish the setup.
  6. After you finish the setup, a helpful prompt will appear to complete your ADT and Google integration.
  7. After your ADT account is linked with your Google account, a helpful prompt will appear to begin the setup of your Google Nest devices for your ADT and Google integration.
  8. If you subscribed to Nest Aware Basic or Nest Aware Plus, you can apply the subscription to your home in the Google Home app.
  9. You can give structure and device-specific permissions for access and data sharing between Google and ADT.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Emerson

Thanks for the reply. That was exactly what I did (multiple times). I added my Nest cameras in this way successfully, but my Nest doorbell and Nest hub don't show in the Google's authorization for ADT+ page. I suspect this is a bug of the page preventing some eligible Nest devices from showing.

Hi phnix,

We hear you and we're on the same page as you. You already linked your Google Home account to the ADT+ app successfully but still getting the same issue, also the Nest Doorbell is working as expected with the Google Home app. Try reaching out with ADT and see if they have additional troubleshooting steps that you can do.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Emerson
