I have a nest Hello and love it. Recently, the front started peeling. How can I get it repaired? The warranty is long over.

Ok, so after a week of getting my time wasted by Google support's glaical speed at responding to emails, I finally was sent a link to chat with somebody.
Long and short is:
Google will not repair the doorbell for any price and it's basically an ugly piece of e-waste screwed to the front of my house for everybody to see.
I am *quite* unhappy that it only lasted about 2 years. I was a happy Nest customer with several cameras and the doorbell. I can't believe Google will not support their products after warranty.
It's unlikely I will ever buy another product from them if there are alternatives available.

Yes, this... Mine and my neighbors are both peeling. They're about the same age, mine being a little newer. We live in Myrtle Beach and just figured the peeling was due to the salt in the air from the ocean, we're pretty close, but not that close.
Would love someone coming up with an option here for us out of warranty folks.

Probably not the ocean. I am in Arizona, which is pretty dry and not salty at all.

Must be bad materials... At first it looked like I forgot to peel off a plastic covering...

So Brad, the process ended with Google telling me to push off and buy a Ring doorbell.

Hey folks,
I am sorry that support wasn't able to offer an acceptable solution for either of you. I put through your request for a replacement, but I am afraid that I do not process them myself. I will be locking this thread as a resolution was found. I would be just as frustrated if I were in your shoes.
Best Regards,
Brad.

Hey Brad, so OBVIOUSLY this is a bigger problem than just one or 2 users. If you guys were a car company, we'd be looking at a recall....

So I too have been on the receiving end of Google's snail-like support. I get emails daily saying they are working on a solution and will update me when they have reached one. I am not confident at all about them providing any help, and even more so after reading your last post. Shame on Google.
I am a VERY loyal Google-ite, from phones since the OG Moto Droid, Nexus devices, Pixel devices, up through my current Pixel 6 Pro, Google throughout the home, Gmail, Drive, Google One, YouTube Premium, Google apps up the wazooooo....you name it. Loyal even through the horrible YouTube Music replacing a great music player in the Play Music app. Personally, I wasn't expecting anything from them, but THEY contacted ME because of this post and I was slightly hopefully optimistic to say the least.
This is just bad business on their part. How about a heavily discounted replacement to replace an obviously flawed design, even though it's OOW?
C'mon Google STEP THE F UP HERE! We know you can afford it, what's your stock price today? a gajillion per share?

unfortunately, this isn't a "SOLUTION". I am still in contact with their so-called support, stringing me along. I responded with a long diatribe about how I am a longtime Google user as mentioned below. Maybe that will help, maybe not, but I feel better about doing it.
