My Google Nest Hello Doorbell is peeling

Ken5

Just called support, said nothing they can do cause it's out of warranty. I like the Doorbell Camera very much and it has worked well. In fact I just purchased the outdoor camera battery and I have the Nest Aware Plus subscription. But I've noticed on the Doorbell Camera it is peeling on the front and looks very bad. It's not a protective film I didn't take off. It's a clear plastic coating that is made on to the camera and it is slowly falling apart. I've noticed many other people are having the same issue, so this is clearly a defect when it was made. I paid around $230 for the Doorbell. I believe the right thing for Google to do would be to replace mine with a new Google wired Doorbell, even though I paid more, I would hope the new model fixed this issue. Please help.

Hey there,

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this, I can imagine this has been stressful for you. If you're seeking a replacement, please fill out this form. However, if your device is no longer under warranty, we cannot offer a replacement, and do not offer replacements for parts. We're sorry for the inconvenience.

@Ken5

Since Google Nest says they "cannot" replace peeling Google Nest Hello Doorbells even though there are hundreds of posts about it in this forum, we bought a silicone skin on Amazon to cover the peeling shards on ours.

@Ken5

There are definitely silicone sleeve options you can find online. Thanks for the suggestion, @MplsCustomer.
