Is it normal that I'm unable to add the new Nest Cam 2nd Generation into the Nest App with my other Cameras?
It only add it to the Google Home App! 😞

The new Google Nest cameras and doorbells introduced starting in the fall of 2021 work ONLY in the Google Home app and NOT in the Google Nest app OR on the home.nest.com website. (We discovered this the hard way when we bought a Google Nest Camera [Battery] in Sept. 2022.).
Google Nest's VP and GM posted this rationale for this approach for the new Google Nest cameras back in Sept. 2022:

This does not make sense... The other Nest item are available at both places (In the Nest app and also in the Google Home App).
Why this happen only with the new cameras??? They should still appear in both Apps!
The Nest App is a lot easier to consult when we want to check all cameras at the same time! No way of doing this with the Google Home App! 😞

Thank you for your feedback on this issue, I fully understand the frustrations of not having your new Nest Cams in the Nest App or available on https://bit.ly/3HtBgJC web app. I can imagine having to use two different apps at the moment is quite daunting, and could lead to frustration.
However, the new Nest cameras and doorbell are exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with your speakers and displays. A Nest Aware subscription applies to all of your cameras, speakers, and displays in the same home structure. Thank you for your continued patience, and support. I'm still unable to see me New Camera on the Nest Web site from my PC! 😞

Since Nest Cam (battery) is only available on Google Home app, you can't open it through the Nest website. Our team is working hard to deliver the best experience to our users and we'll take this as feedback.
