I installed a Nest Cam, Indoor, Wired, 2nd Generation but it constantly tries to refresh Live View and History and doesn't really work. The worst part about it, is that it slows down the entire network in my home where a speed test will give me 2 meg download and .15 upload vs. the normal 40 download and 5 meg upload . Yet, I have installed the Nest Doorbell and that works great and doesn't impact my network at all. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Nest Cam multiple times and finally took it back to the store and bought a new one. Same issues with the new camera. I am using a Deco Mesh Wifi.

Hey there,
Thank you for bringing up the concern you're experiencing, I would love to look into this further for you. The first troubleshooting step that I'd recommend would be to restart your device. This process should keep all your settings, and reconnect it to the same Wi-Fi network. This is helpful if it ever freezes, has connection problems, or isn't working normally.
Best regards,
Brad

I apologize for only answering now. I restarted the device multiple times. Did the same with my phone where the app resides. I removed/uninstalled the camera and then reinstalled the camera as well with the same results. I did notice that when I would unplug the camera, the wifi speed would go back to normal, but after I plugged the device back in and walked in front of it the camera would recognize the movement and the wifi speed would slow back down.

Hello everyone,
@Anthonynest31 thanks for getting back to us. That's certainly hasn’t been easy for you. To confirm, have you tried to reset your Nest camera to the factory default?
Try changing the position of the camera. For example, from the living room to your kitchen, then check the difference to your internet speed. Don't forget to consider the distance of your Nest camera to your home Wifi router.
Keep me posted.
Thanks for the response, Archie.
Regards,
Emerson

Thank you. I have moved the camera to different areas and all is the same as before. Once I turn the camera off, my speeds increase.

Hi Anthonynest31,
Thanks for getting back to us. I'm sorry to hear if you're having the same issue. To confirm, have you tried checking the settings of your router? If not, try checking the firewall, QoS, parental controls or settings that would make your Nest Cam consume a lot of your internet bandwidth. If in case you're not familiar with how to check the settings of your router, we would recommend you to call them and ask for assistance. Hit this link for more information.
Looking forward to your response.
Best,
Emerson

I did check the settings of my router as well as the firewall, parental controls and anything else that would affect internet bandwidth. Still no luck. I ended up returning the camera to the store and purchasing a Google Nest Cam IQ Indoor. Paid more money for an older camera but that camera works great and the functionality is better than the other camera. The most interesting part of it all is that this camera doesn't affect my bandwidth as the other did.
