Nest Cam battery missing events

I'm experiencing the same issue reported here: https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Cameras-and-Doorbells/Idle-Camera-No-motion-detection/m-p/118...

Look... If these cameras don't work unless they are plugged in, Google needs to give us weatherproof cables for free. This is absurd.

Same issue here with the battery-powered setup.  The "idling" design appears to be flawed and makes the product useless if you wish to receive alerts or view past events of interest.

We've had a cop here now twice to see if we recorded events, it just so happens these (battery) based cameras suck. They go idle and/or miss events constantly because they aren't plugged in.

Hi Brad,

What I would really like is for Google to provide me with the outdoor cables that are apparently required for these cameras to operate properly. Or, at the very least, give us some indication that this problem that was reported many months ago has a fix coming down the road.

@KcH89

Unfortunately, we do not process replacements in this forum, but I bet that Support could help you out if your device is still under warranty. I would check with them first. I say that because they would honestly be your best bet for some help.

Best regards,

Brad
