Nest Door Bell notifications Stopped working

Devin1

I have had the Nest Hello doorbell (wired) installed for around a year or so, it ran perfectly up until a few weeks ago. If someone came to the door and pushed the door bell, my wife, son and I would all get a notification that someone had pushed the door bell and the camera would stream. All of the internal hubs would notify also.......in summary, everything worked as it should. All of the iPad's and android tablets also notify as they should.

But, recently if someone is at the door, the home hubs and tablets all notify as they should but none of the phones do, we have a mixture of android and apple hand sets. I have checked that all of the updates are current, I have also logged out of the nest app and relogged in, but this sadly hasn't worked either.

Has anyone got any advice on where to go next with this annoying problem?

@Devin1

The only thing that should cause that would be if "Push notifications" were turned off in Settings for the doorbell in the Google Nest app on each phone.

I will check that everyone's notifications are to to on for push notifications in the Nest App

Hi there,

I apologize for my late response, and thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I understand how upsetting this concern may be, and I'm happy to assist you with this obstacle in any way I can. Were you able to check and see if all of your devices have the correct settings enabled for notifications? Please let me know.

Best regards,
Brad

Hi Brad - thanks for jumping onto this thread, yes I have checked all of the devices and they all have push notifications active?

@Devin1

Thank you for confirming that you have your push notifications active! Have you tried to factory reset your Nest doorbell? If you haven't yet tried, here is a link on how to factory reset your doorbell.

Best regards,

Brad

Hi Brad, I don't think that this will fix the issue as we still get the notifications on the Google hubs and tablets, just not the cell phones?

I've experienced it where sometimes my partner will get notifications and I won't and vice versa.

Usually, it resolves itself on its own, though very annoying. Possibly due to signal but I'm not sure.

None of us (3 in total) get notifications on our phones, but do on our tablets? Its really weird.
