Nest Hello Doorbell blinking green LED

Hello, I have a Nest Hello that went offline at 3:00 AM (four hours ago) and now has a blinking green LED.  I tried reset (through the rear pin hole).  I tried Factory Reset by also holding down the doorbell button and rear pin hole (for more than 10 sec).  Both make the LED go off momentarily, but the LED resumes its blinking shortly thereafter.  I have about 20 V measured at the doorbell.  This doorbell had been working for more than one year in its current place.

Any thoughts on what else I can try, short of buying a new Hello?

Hey Bert

check the power   (20v its good to the door bell)

you should check doorbell wires

check the chime wires

check how much voltage the chime is getting with and without the chime connected

It's 20 V.  The chime still works if I disconnect the ring doorbell and touch the wires together.  Nothing has changed in the house circuit, was working for at least a year before early this morning.  Either a software update bricked the Hello, or it has a hardware failure?

That's what its starting to sound like , its the factory reset that bothers me does it play a sound when you reset? and what does the bottom ring do?

No sound on reset, no color on the bottom ring.  When I hold the ring depressed, while resetting with the pin in the back, the only action is that the green LED stops blinking   It resumes blinking shortly after letting these buttons go, even after holding them for more than 10 seconds.

Unfortunately;  I think you right ,it does sound  sound like a hardware failure.

there is nothing else I can do for you , on the bright side you can get the new nest door battery ,then you would have battery back up in-case of a power failure.

Thanks for replying, but I think the consensus is that the Doorbell is dead and I need to buy a new one.  I probably bought it two years ago, not sure if I can find the receipt so I suppose no warranty applies.

The new Google Nest Doorbell (Battery) does not support 24/7 streaming, even if it is hard-wired. Their website says: "Whether you choose battery or wired installation, the Nest Doorbell (battery) cannot continuously record 24/7 video history. Google Nest offers other cameras and a wired-only doorbell that can record 24/7 video history with a Nest Aware Plus subscription."

You could try contacting Google Nest support so see if they'll replace it. I know the warranty says 1-year, but last year our Nest Hello failed after 15 months and they replaced it and we sent the old one back after receiving the replacement.

Perhaps you can reach Google Nest support here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp
