Nest Hello Mechanical Chime too Weak

Hellouser12345

I just got done installing my nest hello. The nest lit up blue and is working flawlessy through the app. However, I noticed the mechanical chime was is not working. To troubleshoot, I followed all of the instructions; double checking the wires, checking connections and circuit breaker and making sure the indoor chime is turned on in the app and that it was not set to electronic Chime. I can see the plunger move while watching the Chime with the cover off when the doorbell is wrang. However, it doesn't move with enough force to strike the bar and make the noise. What could the issue be? If I continue to use the nest hello with the indoor Chime turned off would that cause any problems to my transistors, etc.?

It took me a long time to figure out myself, couple transformers and new mechanical chime to try. At the end, better transformer was needed ( I got 16vac/30VA heath zenith one - they claimed this one works with all video bells). But before you change anything, modify the app setting, open nest, settings=> under video setting select low for quality and bandwidth, this solved my issue with mechanical chime. Looks like wired door bell takes too much power from the transformer to record high quality videos.

The Capacitor is suppose to augment the voltage to the Mechanical Chime.  I expect the Capacitor is not doing its job.  One guy replaced the capacitor and still did not correct the problem.  I expect the capacitors are to weak to actuate the striker

Thanks for your input. I've since turned off the indoor chime function and just use my phone. Works fine enough without it. If I decide to try and fix it I'll go this route you mentioned here.

I am still working on the same problem.  Any additional thoughts.

I checked and there is no power to the capacitor, so it is probably not charging.  I moved to electronic with allows me to select a timed electrical charge to the Capacitor.  I thought that might charge the capacitor.  My chime does work now, but still very weak.  This made an improvement but it is not the total solution.   Think will try testing the voltage during the electronic doorbell ring.   If anyone has tried this let me know.
