My Nest Hello is delaminating. It looks awful.
It was installed by a recommended installer that I got the referral from the nest site so installation is not on me.
a simple search of Google Nest peeling shows MULTIPLE sites that have documented this issue along with multiple reddit threads with users having the same issue.
It's OBVIOUSLY a manufacturing defect as it's happening to multiple people. There are websites detailing the issue and it's also on Reddit. Multiple folks on reddit indicated that customer service replaced theirs OUT OF WARRANTY and when I tried I was denied as were other folks it looks like. Maybe too many are failing and they decided they didn't want replace these obviously defective units?
Here's mine, it's delaminating a ton on the bottom and starting to chip around the camera. It looks awful and like I said it was professionally installed by a recommended installer. I don't use any harsh cleaning products, I cleaned it with a damp rag occasionally.
Customer service told me they can't help me and recommended I buy a new one. Why would we have to buy a new one when it's going to dissolve in a couple of years by being used as intended?
