Nest Hello Doorbell is peeling.

Support says it's out of warranty. I pruchased this, along with 6 other cameras, and a sweet of speakers, chromecast, and a thermostat.

With the doorbell peeling, the quality at night as taken a dive, and I need help getting it fixed.

Hi, I have a nest doorbell, and have noticed the laminate of the face is just starting to peel as with alot of other people. I cant find where to report this to Google to see if I can get a replacement?

Thanks

Matt

I have the same problem, and support said they can’t help at all because it’s not a technical problem. Can’t believe this happened after merely three years, it’s not even a place people have to touch all the time.

A little less than a year ago I received an RMA for my original unit that peeled - the replacement has started to peel as well and it is installed out of the elements and not in direct sunlight. Tonight I was informed that the warranty period of the original unit is what decides replacement, even though the replacement has already failed LOL.  Repeated attempts to reason with the person were fruitless.  I absolutely hate to be "that guy" and threaten to leave the Nest ecosystem but I think I have had enough. Nest-aware subscription, Tstat, multiple cameras - just can't understand why they won't stand behind a product with known issues like this.

Yeah it's pretty ridiculous, mine was out of warranty already but it's clearly a known problem and they keep saying it's still functional. They should at least offer a discounted price to purchase the new version but nope!
