Nest IOS notifications not working on one phone, but working completely fine on others.

having an issue the same as a past that ive pasted below, help asap would be much appreciated.

We've got a fair few nest devices, most of which are using the new Google Home app. The doorbell (Wired) is on the Nest app.

On all the google home devices, and my iPhone, notifications work great. On my wife's however, the notifications have stopped hitting in the last week or so.

Things I've tried:

  • iOS Notification settings: toggling off and on
  • Nest notification settings. Toggling all off and on.
  • Re-installing nest app
  • Logging nest app in as myself instead
  • Restarted camera (although I suspect its nothing to do with the camera itself - its working on my iPhone and all the Home devices).

None of which seem to work - I don't see a single nest notification. Mine is happily running notifying of detected persons and doorbell pushes. WiFi is fine.

Wow,,, sounds like you did all the right things.   I'm going to try and escalate this to give it more attention.  You should hear from an actual google support person shortly.

If and when this gets fixed please return here and let us know how you got ti working again.

Good luck!

Hi issa__,

Thank you for posting here in the community. I really appreciate you chiming in, @EmptyNester. I'm sorry that you can't receive notifications on your wife's phone; it doesn't work. I understand this could be frustrating when the notifications work on your phone and the rest of Google Home devices, but it doesn't work on your wife's phone. I also really appreciate the effort to try a few troubleshooting steps so far. But not to worry; help's here.

Please follow this good article about doorbell alerts and notifications. You can try a few different options and troubleshooting steps to isolate the issue.

Let me know if you need more assistance.

Regards,

Byron
