Hello I having issues with my nest gen 2 wired camera. Specifically, detecting motion of people. Most of the time it will not detect or half detect. 3 to 1 event not detected  ? No sensitive options

If it happens I wanna put a sample video people walk in front of camera and video end in half way, that's not normal

How can I solve it

Hi there!

Thanks for posting here in the community. I'm sorry to hear your Nest camera isn't detecting people as expected, especially when people are closer to the Nest camera. I'm happy to help!

To better understand the situation, I'd like to ask a few questions:

  • When did the inconvenience start?
  • Were there any changes to the Wi-Fi network?
  • How far is the Wi-Fi router from the camera?
  • Has the camera been moved recently?
  • Are there any Activity Zones set up for the camera?
  • Is the Airplane or Do Not Disturb mode turned off or on?

In the meantime, let's check a few things:

  • Motion Sensitivity: If you haven't already, try increasing the motion sensitivity settings. This can help the camera detect smaller or faster movements. Refer to this article: Basic motion and sound detection.
  • Person Detection Sensitivity: Some cameras have specific settings for person detection sensitivity. Visit our Help Center to learn more about Camera and doorbell alerts.
  • Check Maximum Event Length: Choose the maximum length for event video recordings.
    • Open your Google Home app > Select your Nest Camera.
    • Go to settings > video.
    • Choose the maximum length for event video recordings:
    • 10 seconds up to 3 minutes

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Melany
