Nest doorbell battery. Battery life really bad

Nickc

I've recently installed nest doorbell and I'm losing about 10% a day. I've checked all the settings and are set up to low and battery saving. With my event zone I have notifications on for people and packages only and everything else is turned off but I'm still losing battery quickly. I live on a main road so I'm not sure if I live too close to the road? Thank you

Same issue here. I've got a brand new Nest Doorbell battery and kept all the default settings. Getting no more than 3 days battery life. A far cry from the 2.5 months Google say it can get!

I tweaked the settings to only alert me when I'm not home to packages and people within a small zone around my doorstep, but I've not seen any improvement.

I learnt that event zone don't effect battery, only notifications so I turned everything on outside of my event and it didn't effect the battery but I got ton of notifications for cars. You can live to close to a road.

Did you get any further than this? Did Google ever respond and try to help you out?

I contacted Google and they sent me out another doorbell and same thing happened. I live too close to the road.

Hey folks,

I am still looking into other options for this issue. If you have reduced the other settings, that really should be saving you some battery. I can provide a Helpful Article on other ways to extend your battery life. It could just be that you live on a particularly busy street. You should still have the option to wire your doorbell if you choose too.

Best Regards,

Brad.

Yes, I do live on a busy street.

That being said, the article you've referred to still mentions that I should get 1.5 month's battery life. I have never gotten more than three days!

That's what I was thinking, till I turned the notification for outside my zone and got 30 events in an hour. The doorbell still needs to register a car to not tell me about it.

Hello again.

Changing the sensitivity settings, and other alert settings to even turning them off would be the best in your situations. These devices are built to notify you on movement, sound, etc. so its best to go through your settings in the Google Home App and change them, add in Activity Zones, and mess around with sensitivity.

Response seen. I have followed all the guidance given in this thread and nothing make a difference . My Nest doorbell has never lasted more than three days on a full charge before reaching critical battery from the day I installed it two months ago.
