Nest doorbell won’t play video

I will get a notification that the doorbell caught motion but when I select the notification to view what it was the camera saw, it only shows a picture of what was in the video it recorded. It won’t playback the recording. What could cause this?

Do you have a Nest Aware or Nest Aware Plus subscription? If you do not, then, with the 2nd Gen Google Nest Doorbell you can only view video of detected/recorded events that occurred in the last 3 hours.

I’m having the same issue. Thumbnail show certain amount of seconds for video’s but then will only display a still picture.
Is the three hours of recording three recorded hours of data or the previous three hours time?

@Crookedarm

If you don't have a Nest Aware subscription, your camera can save activity for up to 3 hours before it expires and is deleted. I know that with the battery-operated cams, you may only get a thumbnail for an event, but if it recorded the full event, you should be able to click it and view it.

Best regards,

Brad
