New Nest Camera Viewable in Browser

The new indoor nest cam I just bought is not viewable in the Nest app nor on home.nest.com.  It is viewable in the Google Home app... what is the browser url equivalent?  I want to be able to monitor my cameras from my browser.

I just got a new camera, too. It seems for now you can only view new cameras on the app, not Nest app or website, but I read Google is slowly addressing that. Really bad decision on their part.

I "upgraded" from an IQ Outdoor to the new battery model and am now realizing I also can't monitor my cameras from the web. This is incredibly disappointing and a terrible, deceptive experience.

For posterity, there's more info + links in this post: https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Cameras-and-Doorbells/New-Nest-Outdoor-Camera/m-p/52749/highl...

@sharpie958  I am having the same issue.  I got a new floodlight camera specifically to able to view simultaneously in a web browser on my big monitor, and there's apparently no way to?  What the hell were folks at Google thinking??

I'm in the same boat as the rest of you. The camera is pretty much useless to me on an app for the functionality I need it for. I'm surprised the mods haven't closed this thread yet, they like to do that without ever offering up a real solution. I'm going to keep razzing them about that for as long as I can.

I am really disappointed at how closed and useless the google nest cam (battery) is. It is way more expensive than open alternatives as well. Please fix this asap! I was planning to expand with more cameras to not only cover the front door but now I have to reconsider what system to use.

Hey folks,

Thank you for your feedback on this issue, I fully understand the frustrations of not having your new Nest Cams in the Nest App. I can imagine having to use two different apps at the moment is quite daunting, and could lead to frustration.

However, the new Nest cameras and doorbell are exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with your speakers and displays. A Nest Aware subscription applies to all of your cameras, speakers, and displays in the same home structure. Thank you for your continued patience, and support. I am more than happy to assist you further with this inquiry if you wish. Please let me know.

Best Regards,

Brad.

This thread started as, how come the only way to view the camera is through the Google home app.  There is NO way for me to view the camera from the web.  So in order to actively monitor my cameras, I have to keep my mobile device actively running?  Previous cameras from Nest, I had the mobile app AND i can monitor via home.nest.com

Exactly.  I bought this assuming I could leave it up on a computer monitor to watch it.  Looks like the only way right now is to install an android emulator, which is quite a huge hassle.

You'd assume that most cameras are compatible with all devices these days, especially in a browser. Only just found this out after buying a new Nest camera which I will now have to return. This needs to be addressed by them ASAP as a priority.

Most likely Google could not keep the Nest Engineers for any new integrations.
Thus, you can only see the live streaming via the Google Home app.
I hope I'm wrong, but often Google support teams only support fix things whenever they feel like it.
