Hi Mike,

The new Nest Doorbell Battery and Nest Cam Battery will only work with the Google Home app and are not viewable in the Nest app or on the Nest Web Portal.

Within the Google Home app you can view the live streams and event history of all of your Nest cameras however, for some settings and full 24/7 video, you will still need to use the Nest app for the older cams for the time being. Google is working to bring more functionality over to the Home app so you can manage everything from one place.

I hope this helps.

All the best,

This is something that needs to be told to customers BEFORE PURCHASE AND INSTALL. The nest app is superior to Home and now having one camera that doesn't show on nest sucks. Very dissatisfied with this situation. Would not have purchased if this information was given before hand.

I just purchased and installed the new battery operated indoor/outdoor nest cam with constant power.  MUCH to my dismay and can ONLY see my history in the Google Home App (which crashes on my iPad ever few minutes) and NO history of my 8 older cameras, just live views!  In my Nest App (which is stable) I can get my history for my 8 older cameras BUT can not even see my new battery operated indoor/outdoor nest cam with constant power.

My second object is the power cord pushes the cord toward the camera front rather than toward the back of the camera which seems absolutely backwards!!  The fix would be new correctly constructed power cords!

I am so sorry to be that jerk but this is the dumbest thing I've ever experienced with Google or Google Products, talk about not thinking things through.  Seems like it was all rushed out and poorly configured.  I've wasted hours trying to add this new Nest Battery Camera to the Nest App only to uncover this comedy.  Why call it a Nest camera when you cannot use it on or with the Nest app?  It's absurd, makes no sense, is not considerate of your loyal customers and is not user friendly.  This information should have been made available prior to purchasing this camera.  You wouldn't help fix or replace my Nest IQ camera so I had to buy this monumental fraud.  Boo!

I sent my back and will wait for them to fix these two issues.

Would have done the same,  but didn't find out until after I already paid to have it hardwired. The lack of this piece of information in the description- you know something along the lines of "Our new nest cameras don't work with the nest app"- is intentional; they know no one who has existing cameras would purchase them.

Yeah,  you're not alone. I'm FUMING at having been duped into buying the new camera.

How do i add the new nest camera to my subscription if I am unable to use the Nest app

You have to add new cameras with the Google Home App.  If memory serves me correctly, then it will show up in the google app, but not in the Nest App, and at least when I worked with it in September, 2021, ability to get histories was all screwed up, if you are trying to integrate older cameras with the new one.  IF you only have new cameras, then you don't need the nest app
