I recently moved and forgot to disconnect my Nest Chime Connector from inside the chime.  I've read some posts that there is no way to purchase a replacement through the Google Store, but I'm hoping someone may be able to help me out with tracking down a new one.

Thanks!

I am in the same situation. I moved and forgot the chime connectors. How can I get a replacement?

Same issue with me - need to replace a chime connector.  Previous support threads suggested Google was helping with this in some way, so let's hope someone chimes in (LOL) here.

Hello , yes I just did the same thing.

How do I get a new nest chime connector or is there another solution?

thank You

Can someone on the Google team provide a response? As @TorontoTim mentioned, previous threads suggested Google would reach out with a resolution.

Have the same issue - moved and left the chime connector in my old house.  Is the only option eBay $39?  https://www.ebay.com/itm/333846312319?chn=ps&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&amdata=enc%3A1MjUaJvs_TZWEom2hXx6LdQ...

Seems like they are just moving this topic around and failing to actually answer it.  I don't even care if the answer is that there is nothing they can do, but it's been nearly 20 days and no one is saying anything.  Not even sure if there is a better avenue to go down, but I'd guess Google just doesn't really care.

Hi Swobodas,  It seems like their silence is their their answer.    Maybe just move forward with Kgwallac's  suggestion and purchase one on Ebay for $39.00 so you can be done with this not-so-great tech support?

That is what o did. It seems like the best solution.

regardless I was going to have to buy a new one. It was my fault I left it. Out of sight out of mind kind of thing. Mine will be here tomorrow. So I will be set up Tomorrow as well. Done.

Did this work for you?

BTW you can effectively bypass the chime on the wall by connecting the two wires in the chime.  The button on the Nest completes the circuit allowing power to flow through the chime activating it.  The problem is the Nest isn’t a physical switch but rather a circuit that allows some small amount of voltage through even when “off”.  This is what the chime controller sucks up and prevents from causing your doorbell chime from faintly buzzing etc. as it works on eletromagnetic coils that move the strikers that hit the bells.

Anyhow if you don’t care about the mechanical chime inside, you can just connect the two wires you should see in the chime box - the two wires that connect to the Nest Chime Controller.

This allows the Nest Hello to function while you search for a chime controller.  I have mine wired up like this now.

To be clear, youre saying we can unscrew the two wires in the chime box and twist/cap them together, effectively completing the circuit without touching the elctromagnets?

same issue for me.

Does MacGyvering the connection without the Nest chime connector take away any functionality such as preventing one from having the Google mini as an electronic chime?

No, rigging it incorrectly just means your old school mechanical chime will no longer work, you are essentially bypassing it.  The only way to get notifications is through the app or a second google/nest device

I'm in the same boat moved and parents forgot the chime connector and would much rather get a replacement from Google than a potentially shady eBay deal. Please help Google.

I’d be willing to bet the same sort device from any other digital doorbell would work.  It’s just controlling the very small amount of voltage that leaks through the doorbell to the chime.

I’m on the same boat here… @User123456 please help.

Any response Google?  I am in the same position.  Just moved and left the chime connector.  Yes I’m a dummy - but I’m willing to pay for my absent mind.  Help Google!?

Check this solution out because you can fix the issue without having to pay that ridiculous price for their replacement!

that solution may have a fire hazard.
