Several Months trying to fully install google nest doorbell (wired) 2nd gen and no joy

I have been able to install the doorbell as a plain chime doorbell, but never any video.

The doorbell I have is not the same as shown in the installation video.  The packaging told me it is the google nest doorbell (wired) 2nd gen but it is not the same as the one in the video.

When I reach the point in the installation where it tells me to show my camera to the QR image, the image is recognized and then it goes nowhere.

I have gone through this exercize repeatedly over the past several months.

I have prviously been on this forum and had some suggestions from kind members but none have resolved this issue.

Are you installing your doorbell in the correct app?

If you have the older Google Nest Hello Doorbell, now renamed "Nest Doorbell (wired)", it gets installed in the Google Nest app; the page below shows the doorbell with an install video:

If you have the newer 2nd Gen Google Nest Doorbell, it gets installed in the Google Home app; the page below has an install video that shows what the doorbell looks like (it's larger than the Nest Hello and comes in several colors):
