There are some things I am not entirely happy about with my new Nest Cam (battery).
I have the camera mounted on the side of my house, and I can reach up with the charging cable and plug it into the camera without needing to remove it from its mount. When I look at the app, I can no longer see the battery level to determine if it is charging (all I see is LIVE where the % used to be). The camera is in live mode all the time, reducing the charging efficiency. The battery page shows the infinity symbol.
I want to turn off the camera from the app while it charges, but when I try to do that, it gets stuck saying "Turning off," but it never does. I navigate away from the page, and when I go back, it is back to LIVE and slow charging.
I don't want to get a ladder to pull the camera off the magnetic base to charge it when I can reach up with a cable and let the magnetic mount guide it into place. Can Google add the ability to turn off the camera when it is attached to the magnetic mount and the power cable is connected to the camera? It seems like this shouldn't be difficult unless they did something in the hardware that makes it impossible.
Another way to approach it is to let the camera go idle even if it is plugged into the power adapter. A new user toggle can select this in the app. There might be reasons why I don't want 24/7 recording, even when plugged in. Again, it should be something easy enough to do unless the hardware makes it impossible as well.

Yes, I saw the response. I am like others who don't like typing out long messages using my cellphone and look forward to their being web-based feedback so that I can comfortably type it out using my PC.
