Sudden loss of video quality?

I have two Google nest battery cameras that just updated to software version 1.73. The first camera to update displayed a severe drop in video quality, even when streamed on varying devices.

When the second camera updated, the video quality on that camera dropped too.

I've only had the cameras for short time and this is a serious issue. I'm wondering if anyone else is seeing a similar problem or can help me out?

Yes, I too have experienced this issue. I came here for answers. I regret not returning the item when I had the chance. I could have had a high quality video but stuck with google because I figure it would be easier to use with Google's home app. The camera quality was already sub par and now it's even worse than ever. Can't even see a clear image within 4 feet. Can't make out a face or see the fire hydrant like I use to be able to do. Has anyone found a fix for this yet?

Hi JRogers6186,

Thanks for reaching out! I understand that your Nest Camera lost the video quality. I can only imagine how frustrating it must be to see your Nest camera footage lacking its usual crisp quality. No worries, I'm here to help you get things back on track.

Here's a link to troubleshoot the situation, please visit Change Nest camera or doorbell video quality. Follow the steps and you can change the video quality.

I hope this helps!

I have already done this. When I initially bought the cameras I set them up to Max quality. Checking them now and they are still set to maximum quality yet the image is terrible on both of my cameras.

Please note that this only occurred after they updated to the latest version of the firmware.

Thanks for your assistance. What should I do next?

Same issue, three exterior Nest cams (and the nest doorbell, gen 2), all wired with good internet access.  It's like the latest updates have been playing havoc with the night vision quality.  During the day they are great, but at night, terrible, like it's foggy out!
