TV Streamer and Nest cam feeds

sudders

I bought a Google TV Streamer to be able to show my Nest battery doorbell cam on the TV hopefully for longer than the 5 minutes on the phone app.

The trouble is, the feed displays for about 5 seconds then goes to a black screen and only provides audio. I can't find a fix for this anywhere and google support is less helpfull than a chocolate teapot.

Any ideas?

I've tried a different TV, new hdmi lead with the required specs, factory resetting the streamer, rebooting the wifi etc... no dice.

You need a good  AND strong Wifi signal !!!

Thanks for the input but I'm pretty sure thats not the problem. Wifi signal is super fast and steady and ive also tried over ethernet.

I've found an alternative solution... there's an option in the settings cog for Google home which displays my cameras and seems to work fine at the moment. Still doesn't fix the voice command and streaming issue though.

Hi @sudders!

Thank you for posting in the community, and to @Wilson1946 for the recommendations! It's great to hear you found a solution to view your Nest Doorbell (battery) constantly through your Google TV Streamer. And I'm sorry to hear you're still having issues with voice commands and streaming. I appreciate your efforts in taking those steps before. I'm happy to help you!

To help me find the best solution, I'll need to ask you a few questions:

  • Could you give me more details about the problem with voice commands?
  • What voice commands are you using?
  • Are you getting any error messages when using voice commands?
  • Could you give me more details about the issues you're experiencing with streaming?

Please keep me posted. I'll be waiting for your response.

Best regards,
Geremi
