I have a 3-yr old Nest doorbell that is wired.
Trying to set it up after changing WiFi details but the factory reset is simply not working
tried pushing rest button with a pin & the Bell button at the same time but nothing happens - no chime and no count down.
very frustrating and frankly disgusted
any one else having that issues? Please help

The 2nd gen model was only released last year, so you have the 1st gen model if it's 3 years old.
Assuming all the above is good, as you mentioned, it should chime and the light ring should start spinning blue, then flash yellow, then all the lights should turn off. You can release the reset pin and button at that point.

Thanks everyone for the help and suggestions
i ended up calling Google (their support was great) and after a few diagnoses they determined that my doorbell was defective and I had to replace the doorbell. 😕

Hey there,
Happy to hear that! I appreciate the gesture. It looks like we can consider this one complete, so I will be locking this in 24 hours if we won't hear back from you again. Feel free to start a new thread and we'll be happy to help.
Cheers,
JT
