I went ahead and did the reset 4 times in a row it failed the first 3 and on third it works. But now it sends notifications the battery is running low and goes in and out of service. It is hard wired in and can not understand why it sends the battery is low messages.

@3683 you can check the history through the Nest App or Google Home App. Hit the live few and you'll see the option to view the history and view full history. Also, do you have a Nest Aware subscription?
@McFly99 I know how it feels when something isn't working the way they should.
To better understand what's going on, I'd like to ask some questions.
