flacking on doorbell

Hello,
I have had a Nest doorbell for a few years (the warranty is over) and I am satisfied. This morning, I noticed a flaking of the surface of my doorbell. This does not seem to affect (for now) the quality of the image but I am worried about the future. I understand that it can have the morning sun directly on it but I do not think that this can justify damage. It is under the entrance porch sheltered from the elements. Has anyone already observed this situation? Have you managed to find a solution with Google / Nest?   Thank you !

This has come up by other community members. I would suggest you contact Nest directly by using this form.

They will likely need you to check your warranty

Literally 100s  (probably 1000s) have reported this in the last 4+ years.   Google will usually only replace them if they are within the 1 year warranty.  Other wise we are left  on our own.  The problem is purely cosmetic and will not interfere with the camera operation.
