router was replaced but no clear info on reconnection to nestcam

I was able to reconnect my nest thermostats very easily to my replacement router using the new router's WiFi password .  However, I found contradictory info in published help sources associated with reconnection of my Nest Cam Outdoor camera. It seems like the Nest product line exploded and help used to be a phone call to a tech. Now, not so much.

It can be a hassle to change Wi-Fi settings on a Google Nest camera. That's why their first recommendation is to set the network name (SSID) and password on your new router/modem to the same values used on your old router/modem.

If you can't do that, Google Nest's process is to remove the camera from the Google Nest app or Google Home app, do a factory reset, and then reinstall the camera:

Hey there,

Thanks for bringing this up to me, I'd love to take a look into this for you. The first troubleshooting step that I'd recommend would be to restart your device. This process should keep all your settings, and reconnect it to the same Wi-Fi network. This might be helpful if it ever freezes, has connection problems, or isn't working normally.

Best regards,
Brad

@crownmolding, I'm dropping by to ensure that everything is covered here. How's it going with your Nest Camera? Were you able to read the information and check the link they've shared? Also, were you able to perform the steps they're suggesting. In case you have an update, you know where to find us.

I appreciate the help, Brad and MplsCustomer.

All is good. I think we ended up telling the app to forget the camera so we could start from scratch.
