Chromecast tv remote doesn't work

Hello, my Chromecast remote quit working and overheats whenever you put batteries in it and does not light up when you press buttons. I did not spill anything on it or drop it. Just stopped working one day when I went to go use it. Try to reboot my Chromecast but now I can't even pair the remote to use my Chromecast anymore.

If you're happy the batteries are good (try them in another device to test), try these steps:

  1. Remove the batteries from the remote.
  2. Using your phone or other remote to navigate, go to Settings Remotes & Accessories.
  3. Select your remote and choose to Forget it.
  4. Choose Pair remote accessory to start a new pairing.
  5. Hold the home button on the remote down and re-insert batteries while holding the button down. 
  6. The remote should be detected on the right side of the screen. Use your alternate remote to select it to pair it.

Hello I've tried new batteries and no luck. The remote doesn't light up and when I put new batteries in it gets hot. Also I tried resetting the Chromecast and now it's stuck on the pair remote screen
