Chromecast with Bluetooth speaker

Hello friends. 

I'm trying to connect a Bluetooth speaker with chromecast or Google home. I am unsure which I should be directly using to do so.

My aim is for a multi room sound system similar to sonos.

My Living room will use the direct chromecast connection through YouTube music for example to the amp connected to the TV and another room to be streaming via Bluetooth.

I've tried all kinds of ways to connect my Bluetooth speaker to my chrome cast and also Google home but it won't identify it or detect it.

What am I doing wrong?

You can't connect a Bluetooth speaker to a Chromecast (1st gen), but you can connect it to a Google Home or Google Nest speaker.

Hello, thank you for your reply.

I worked this out eventually through googling it a lot.

Which gen chromecast supports Bluetooth? 

It seems odd that I can't use my phone through the Google home app as the Bluetooth host as well as casting simultaneously.
