Connect Chromcast correctly with an IPAD

To whom it may concern,

I have issues cast ing video from my Ipad. I set up theb chrome cast and it works apparently fine with other computer/smartphone. However with the Ipad I can not cast video. I installed google home on it and I can connect to the chrome cast  but when selecting it, I have the choice to cast muusic or to have the inactive mode (photos) but not the videos like on my phone. Also, I installed the alstest google chrome and in there is not the option to cast the window. Strangely casting is possible from the youtube app, but it is the only opccurence where I can use chromecast from my tablet.

Hi Nicolas_camus,

Due to the limitations that Apple place on it's iOS screen mirroring/casting is not possible. Apple only allow this when using it's own Apple TV devices.

You can still use Chromecast enabled apps such as YouTube or Netflix, have a look at the Chromecast help center link below for more information.

Many thanks for the quick answer and the follow up. I actually replied earlier to your mail. So it did not work...  I do not have any more questions. It is a pity it can't work. You should clearly indicate it somewhere. I was looking quite a lot on the web for a solution beforehand.

Hey there Nicolas_camus,

No problem at all! I totally understand that finding an answer to screen-mirroring using iOS on Chromecast is a bit hard to get a straight answer for when you search for it online, thank you for pointing that out. In the meantime, I'll go ahead and lock up this thread, if you run into any more issues in the future, please feel free to make a new thread.
