I just started having this problem last week. I've factory reset ever ChromeCast I have. Tried connecting to both wifi's I have. Nothing. None of my apps allow the streaming symbol to show up anymore. I can't cast from Netflix, disney+, etc.
But its weird because I have a Google mini and I can tell them to stream something from Netflix and it will cast no problems. Any help would be appreciated?
