Wifi

I have a Chromecast and Roku. I have been using my neighbor's wifi which has worked great til yesterday. It says it doesn't "recognize" the wifi anymore; or it can't "communicate" with the Chromecast. Either way it's not connecting so I can't watch tv. I can't watch anything except DVDs.

Assuming your neighbor is allowing you to use their Wi-Fi, you can follow these steps to check and re-enter the Wi-Fi settings.

If that does not work, try these steps:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. At the top left, tap Add + > Set up device > New device > set up new devices in your home.
  3. Follow the in-app steps.

If these steps above don’t solve the issue, you’ll need to factory reset your Chromecast, then set it up again.

Hey folks,

Thanks for the help, davidking.

JeniG, how's it going? Still need help with this? Since you're using your neighbor's Wi-Fi network, you can ask them if there are recent changes in their Wi-Fi network settings. Changes in the network settings can cause an issue with the Chromecast to connect or communicate with it.

Thanks,

Jennifer
