Adding a device to nest aware

Kellieslater

Hello, I already have a nest doorbell and a nest aware subscription. I just installed the wired floodlight camera and want to add that to my nest aware subscription but for the life of me I can't figure out how. Can someone give me some advice?

Hey there,

I am glad to hear that you are interested in subscribing to Nest Aware! If you have any of our Cameras or Doorbells, I would definitely suggest you get a Nest Aware subscription! I'd love to provide you with some helpful links explaining what it's all about.

Here is a great link on how Nest Aware works and how to subscribe, and here is a link on how to manage your subscription.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Best Regards,

Brad.

Having the same issue. Already have nest aware but can’t link the flood light camera. Very frustrating.

Hey Brad (Communit Specialist)  Doesn't look like you understand the problem we're all having. I added an additional camera several months ago.  Set it up with Activity Zones, etc.  Then it stopped recording, showing zones, etc.  Tapping "Nest Aware" shows "Active" and all other cameras are functioning correctly with Nest Aware.  But tapping "Activity Zones" for the new camera now takes me to a screen showing features of Nest Aware with no place to add/change the zones.  In other words, the new camera is apparently no longer working with Nest Aware.  How to fix?

Hey folks,

Are y'all making sure that you are using the same account that is connected to your Nest Aware subscription? Nest Aware would cover your cameras, maybe it would be good to restart your new camera first, but if not restart all of them or remove the camera and add it back in. Check out your Google Home app and make sure that you have an active Nest Aware subscription. Here is a great link on how Nest Aware works and how to subscribe, and here is a link on how to manage your subscription.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Best Regards,

Brad.

I have the same issue. My existing wired Nest doorbell camera died (less than 2 yrs) and had to buy a new one. Now it's asking me to subscribe to Nest Aware, which I have a valid subscription for until 2-############. I need to connect my new camera to my valid existing account. HELP

No, not unless you have ideas how to add to the Nest app and not the Google Home app. The Nest app is MUCH more user friendly.

Thanks for the reply!

I am afraid the Nest app is being phased out. We still support it, and are looking to add more features to the Google Home App. I appreciate your feedback though! It is all helpful.

Best regards,

Brad.

Brad, I eventually deleted the non-functioning camera and added it back as a new device. That fixed my issue.

But I’m surprised to learn you’re phasing out the Nest app. Does this mean Nest Aware, too?  Should I start moving all my devices to Home and not renew my subscription?

I am glad to hear that your issue was resolved! But yes, we are phasing the Nest App out very slowly of course, but we are still fully supporting it at this time. Nest Aware isn't going anywhere, so no worries there! Eventually, it will all be in the Google Home App, which we will continue to improve and update.

Best regards,

Brad.
