I have a 1st Gen Outdoor Cam non IQ) at the front door. Following the purchase of an annual subscription for Nest Aware Plus, I have some quick questions / issues for which hopefully there is a quick resolution:-
1. Notifications - the performance is generally good, but there is a strong tendency for the camera to notify all events when someone is leaving, but there are a number of events that are being missed entirely when people arrive. Do I re-focus the zone away from the front door and further down the entrance towards the path on which people are arriving?
2. Familiar face tech - despite several attempts, I do not get this as a menu option as the online help describes when using the App, so I cannot set up and start using this tech. As an aside, the Nest Aware option in the App still appears as if I am using the App without Nest Aware (ie trying to sell the benefits), when as I have said, I bought an annual sub 2 weeks ago which is linked to the Google Account.
3. Familiar face - I am confused about whether this is available to be used with a 1st Gen Outdoor Cam non IQ, or if applicable, whether all functionality is available? I've read conflicting statements over the last couple of years in the run up to buying the camera. BTW I only bought a 1st Gen Outdoor Cam non IQ because stocks of the 1st Gen Outdoor IQ Cam had been run down/pulled in advance of the release of new IQ cameras later in 2021. I needed a system in place and couldn't wait for the new release.
Looking forward to hearing from you. I do want to expand the system later this year, but I want what I have to be working optimally before making any further purchases.

Sorry for my late response. Thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I just wanted to make sure that your issue is addressed. Thank you for all of your feedback! I can definitely collect it and send it forward. As for Familiar Face, this feature is not available for the older camera models. Your Nest Aware subscription is still there if you can still view and manage your events and footage.
If you upgrade your camera to a newer model, the Familiar Face feature will become available. Notification-wise, you will want to manage them in the app and set up the sensitivity and which notifications you would like to recieve. Just as a side note, there is no such option to change the chime or alert/notification sound at this time for any of our cameras or doorbells.
