Nest Phone Number

I have had a nest system for about 2 years with a phone number associated with it.  I am changing my cell service - do I still need a dedicated phone number for the best aware?

You may need it for 2-step verification of your Google account. I think they recommend temporarily turning off 2-step verification while changing your cell number, but you'd have to search under Google Account information.
