Nest WIFI BUFFERING - apps and iPad updated!!

BronwynM

Hello I have 5 nest cameras and over the past month I have had constant buffering on my nest app. All iPads are up today, apps are updates and subscription is still valid, so i'm not to sure what is happening. Any assistance would be appreciated.

I'm having the same issue, and it seems to have started around the same time as yours.

I'm running 3 cams (Wired Nest doorbell, Google Hub Max and a wireless indoor cam).  I have a three-month old $1,500 laptop, a brand new iPhone 13 Max Pro and my internet service is delivering at least 360 Mbps download and 23 Mbps upload.  The doorbell is about 15 months old and the other cams are less than a year old.  I don't think any of my equipment is the problem.

Everything worked flawlessly from day one up until about a month ago.  Now, the streams are constantly buffering and freezing.  The one wireless cam is on a second floor, but the other two cams are within one and ten feet of my router.  I can maybe see the wireless signal strength being an issue with the second floor cam, but I am having the buffering issues with all three cams.  And up until about a month ago, I wasn't having any problems with the second floor cam, either.

I would sure like an answer to this problem.  I rely on these cameras to help me monitor my 90+ year old parents who both have Alzheimer's.  The system's current performance level has become more of a hazard than a help.

Hi, BronwynM.

Sorry about the issues you're having with device buffering and speed. I know how frustrating that can be to deal with. I have a couple of things for you to check in the Home app. First, do you have any preferred activities set up? If you do, try removing those and seeing if it improves your network stability. If you don't have any selected, try enabling one.

Also, if you prioritize a device, will it end the buffering? Sometimes, even if you only prioritize a single device, it will lift speed across the network.

If you could give those a try and let me know how it goes, we can then go from there. I look forward to hearing back.

Thanks.
