Have 5 nest cameras 3 have been on a nest (1) subscription the others no subscription. Just subscribed to new nest aware + in order to set up zones on the other two cameras. Don’t want to migrate to google home, using nest app on iOS and web browser. In settings under aware status the (2) cameras still show no subscription and can’t add any features. The cameras are (2) outdoor models of which I have a third outdoor that is on a (1st) generation subscription so I know it should work. Did I just waste $120?

You could also go to this Google Nest Help page and click on the "Contact us" link under "Nest Aware Premier Care" for what Google Nest says is "24/7 access to Nest Aware Experts on the Nest Customer Care team".
