My outdoor Nest camera used to detect people, cars, trucks, everything. Now, it rarely detects anything but sound and motion. If I walk to the mailbox, it will detect me. But if my neighbor, the Amazon delivery guy or anyone else walks up it won't detect them. Is this some kind of a joke? I know I walked in front of it, I want to know when SOMEONE ELSE walks in front of it. Anyone else have this issue and how do I fix it. At this point it's totally worthless.

I am having the same exact issues. It legit just shut downs after a car drives down my street. I’m so stressed out because I want to be able to see what’s going on outside and I’m paying for the services and I get the whole package so I’m really aggravated with nest. I don’t get any alerts anymore, this just started a few weeks ago. I’m so confused as to why this is happening and why they are not fixing this issue. My nest cam is only detecting cars. It won’t even detect me. I even tried tj do the zoning thing so it picks up every single area that’s covered by the cam and then left it as it is as well because I should be getting alerts every second. I’m really upset not only because I’m paying for this but I can’t get a hold of anyone to help me out. Super frustrating and I’m going to keep going through this until I find a rep to talk to and so they can fix my device. I hope that you get help as well. I know I’m very frustrated but it went from working out o barely working and only detecting cars. Mind you I have every notification on. Ughhhh

Yes, one of my cameras has not been working right for months now. The issue persists.

Sounds like you no longer have a Nest Aware subscription. I would suggest that you re-subscribe to Nest Aware and you'll get those features again. Here is a great link on how Nest Aware works and how to subscribe, and here is a link on how to manage your subscription.

I have a Nest aware subscription that is valid until 7.9.2022. I pay $60 a year. The problem is the camera doesn't detect any people but me. I put my water bottles right in front of the camera and even though the route man picks up empties and drops off new ones it never shows the big truck or person delivering the water. I will record me picking it up though.

Are you using the Nest Outdoor IQ Cam? Or the new 2021 Nest Cam Indoor/Outdoor cam? The IQ for example, does not have all of the features available via Nest Aware but the new cam should as long as you are using only the Google Home App as the Nest App is not compatible with the new cams and doorbells release in 2021. But if you have adjusted your settings for sensitivity, then I would suggest that make sure that your settings are optimally set up.

Yes, I'm using the older Nest Outdoor IQ Cam. I'm not sure what features you're referring to that mine doesn't have, I just want it to work like it used to, detect people other than me.
