CO Protects continue to flash yellow after event in another room has cleared

There was a CO event on the Nest Protect in my garage. It cleared by itself after a short time. The other 2 Nest Protects in my house continue to flash after 2 days and continue to tell me there is CO in another room. Nothing that I do seems to clear them. One is battery operated and I can’t afford to keep changing them. Does anyone have a solution? I now have left the battery one off. I see an old thread that didn’t get to a solution and was closed.

Yeah i have noticed that the battery protects and the wired protects sometimes have troubles communicating with one another. I’ve had some troubles in my past because I have 7 wired and 2 battery Protects and the message is sometimes delayed between the 2 types. Not sure but hope they fix soon

I would recommend compressed air. Sometimes the CO air that enter the sensors has a hard time exiting and needs assistance. I would go to a local hardware store and spray compressed air directly into the sensors

That makes sense. The issue that I had  were the two other Protects on the network. The Protect in my garage had a CO alarm, I silenced it and opened the garage door and a person door. The Protect told me the levels were dropping and within a short term told me that the CO had cleared. It stopped flashing yellow.

The two other Protects on the network which are located inside my house that simply were relaying the message that there was CO in the garage continued to flash yellow for more than 3 days. I tried the button and they said "silenced, there is CO in another room". One of them is battery powered; the batteries drained from the flashing yellow ring. They cleared up at some point after 72 hours by themselves.

I am assuming they are designed to "let each other know" and perhaps it just takes a while or there's a problem with the logic.

I talked to Nest support but they wouldn't help me unless I called emergency services/ fire department and had an inspection done first.

Hello everyone,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know your inquiries about your Nest Protects light status. I know it has been a while, but I wanted to ensure that everything was covered here.

The Nest Protect uses its yellow light status, which requires your attention. This usually disappears automatically when an action is taken, such as when the batteries are getting low or its sensors have failed. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Regards,
Mark

I have the exact same issue, happened yesterday.  I was running my lawn tractor in the garage while tuning it up, finished and closed garage.  Shortly thereafter, I got the CO alert message so I opened the garage door and it cleared after an hour or so, but all the other 5 Nest Smokes/CO in the house will not stop flashing yellow with no way to manually clear the alert.  It’s frustrating and annoying to have a bright yellow flashing ring all night in my kids bedrooms and my master bedroom!

I’m thinking I’m going to have to reset each device and go through the setup again, but was hoping to avoid this scenario.

Update, after a few days the alert and flashing yellow ring cleared from all my ring protects… it was annoying to have that repeating flashing yellow on at night in the bedrooms, but all is well after waiting it out
